Sunday 14th February

Disappointed to have no Valentine greetings, but went off on the Manly ferry which is enough to raise anyone's spirits. Went to Manly Beach first, did some shopping, reading on the beach, swimming then walked round the headland to a beach with a rock pool.

Much easier to swim here than in the sea, but surprising when a wave suddenly comes over the wall!

The clouds began to close in so went for another hike to a park at Little Manly where Charles had found a public barbecue (amazing what's on Google!)  where he cooked duck and sweetcorn to go with the salad. It was really windy so we had a lot of fun chasing everything which wasn't tied down; several other groups there too. Little Manly appears, from the architecture to be an older part of Manly and is very pleasant, set back from the crowds and fairly quiet.

It was dark by the time I got back on the ferry so the lights were beckoning . Unfortunately there were so many people taking photos that it was impossible to get a good photo.

Got the train back to the cbd and was surprised to see rain!
